What does an Occupational Medicine Physician do?

Occupational physicians serve as an important liaison between the employer, the employee and all components of the health care system in the effort to help the injured worker regain his or her functional abilities and return to work as quickly as possible. Occupational Medicine Providers follow all evidence based guidelines as determined by the American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine.

Does WorkWell Medical Group offer DOT Physicals?
Yes, our providers are certified to perform DOT Physicals under the National Registry of Certified Medical Examiners.
The National Registry of Certified Medical Examiners (National Registry) is a new Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) program. All commercial drivers whose current medical certificate expires on or after May 21, 2014, at expiration of that certificate must be examined by a medical professional listed on the National Registry of Certified Medical Examiners. Only medical examiners that have completed training and successfully passed a test on FMCSA’s physical qualification standards will be listed on the National Registry.

By coming directly to the worksite, we are eliminating time lost from work for an employee to receive reliable care for an injury or other medical issue. The mobile clinic is equipped with a heart monitor, lung evaluation equipment, and two exam rooms.
